ARTIST PROFILE

Camellia Milner is a contemporary artist working primarily in acrylic on paper and canvas. Drawn to semi-abstract composition, her practice explores colour, form, movement and expressive mark-making.

Her work is characterised by a strong and confident use of colour, dynamic compositions and an expressive approach to abstraction. Drawing on a range of artistic influences, Camellia develops semi-abstract works that explore the relationship between colour, shape and space.

Camellia has exhibited across Sydney and has been selected as a finalist in a number of Australian art prizes and exhibitions. Her recent achievements include winning the Guy Warren Prize at ArtXtra! 2025, presented by the Lane Cove Art Society for her painting Secret Garden.

Judged by artist Judith White, Secret Garden was awarded the Guy Warren Prize at ArtXtra! 2025. The official Lane Cove Art Society report records the judge's assessment that the painting had “great power compositionally”, with its use of colour and simple shapes creating “surprising depth and interest in a fresh irrational way.”

The Guy Warren Prize is one of the two major prizes awarded at the Lane Cove Art Society's ArtXtra! exhibition. The 2025 exhibition was held at Gallery Lane Cove, with the exhibition running from 9–23 April 2025.
